“Best view of Amsterdam, plus Europe's highest swing on the roof. My coworker proposed up here at sunset. Take the free ferry from Centraal.”
My coworker Sander proposed to his girlfriend on top of the A'DAM Toren at sunset. She said yes. He says the view "did half the work." A'DAM Lookout is the observation deck on top of the A'DAM Tower in Noord, directly across the IJ from Centraal Station. The view is a complete panorama — canals, old city, harbor, skyline. At sunset the whole city turns golden. "Over the Edge" is a giant swing on the rooftop, 100 meters up. Europe's highest swing. Extra 7 euros, worth it if you are not afraid of heights. The rooftop bar Madam serves cocktails with sunset views. Take the free ferry from behind Centraal Station — 2-minute ride. Go close to sunset for the best experience. Tickets 14-16 euros. It can be very windy up there, bring a jacket even in summer.
Book this one ahead of time — trust me, it sells out.
